Stefan Bachmann

Illustration

In addition to his longstanding career as an author and literacy advocate, Stefan Bachmann is also a visual artist and illustrator creating gothic, surreal, and whimsical artwork for a variety of publishers and clients. Focusing on rich texture, swirling lines, and the misty, powdery feel of graphite, his art conjures eerie yet playful imagery: masked figures, writhing trees, crescent moons, and strange, haunting moments. The result is a dreamlike visual world that exists between the uncanny and the fantastical.
